The Best Cat Litter Scoop!
The DuraScoop Metal Cat Litter Scoop (Amazon link), pictured here, is the most recent “favorite thing” I’m recommending to everyone I know… well, to all the ones I know with cats that is!
I am the not-necessarily proud owner of a very irritable right elbow. I honestly don’t know if it would be called arthritis, tennis elbow, bursitis, or some term I’ve never even heard of. I do know why it’s as temperamental as it is, however. You see, I played softball all summer every summer from the time I was 8 to the time I was 18. What’s more, I played (mostly) third base and I also pitched.
When I made a throw from my position at third base to first base, I would almost always throw side-arm. It was instinctive for me because that’s how the ball would get over there the fastest and throwing runners out was a natural high for me. My dad (who was also my coach for several years) always told me that I was going to hurt my arm. Basically he begged me (and worked relentlessly with me) to throw it over the top of my shoulder. I could do it and the ball got to its destination. Heck, in practice as well as in our back yard, I was an “over the top” throwing magician!
And then…. well… then came game-time and you guessed it… I would go right back to my old ways because it got there faster. I gave my poor dad that same answer each and every time he asked me why I did it.
It gets there faster!
So, it turns out he was right. The damage done to my elbow finally caught up with me and each time it hurts, I glance Heaven-ward and say, “You were right… but… it did get there faster.”
I can almost FEEL him rolling his eyes!
If you have a bad elbow, wrist, or hand, you’ll be glad to know I have found the perfect litter scoop. Heck, even if your body parts are generally in a great mood, you’ll still love this scoop. Why? It does all the work for you!

I’m the primary litter box scooper in my family. It isn’t that no one else would do it, I simply prefer to do it, myself, because I’m one of those annoying people who’s convinced they do everything the “right” way and someone else might just come up short. I don’t at all mind the chore – caring for my furry babies is enjoyable for me, even when it comes to the litter boxes.
The only problem is that it would often cause my elbow to hurt – especially if it happened to be flaring up at the time.
Last year, my youngest daughter bought the litter scoop you see here for me and it changed the whole game. I once bragged about it to my husband by saying that this particular scoop does all the work for me – all I have to do is show up!
I’ve used it faithfully for many months, now, and it still looks brand new. That’s when you know something was made exceptionally well.
It’s beautiful to look at and I’m crazy about the handle. It’s so perfectly comfortable! The metal scoop makes it 100 times easier to scoop than the plastic ones. It’s just amazing the difference this beautiful, well-made, ingenious litter scoop makes.
I’ve noticed something else – my elbow hasn’t hurt in a very, very long time. While I’m not even remotely saying that this scoop will cure anyone’s ailments, I am saying this – apparently cleaning litter boxes didn’t just aggravate my elbow… it may have been the very thing causing the flare ups. With four (inside) cats and three litter boxes, I’d say that would have been a very real possibility.
If you don’t have any elbow or even wrist issues, I highly recommend the DuraScoop Metal Cat Litter Scoop (Amazon link) because it’s the best cat litter scoop on the market. If you DO have an elbow or wrist issue, I downright beg you to give this amazing scoop a try.
It might just change your whole game, too!
