I can give the basics and even a few little extras, but the best way to get to know about me is to get to know me. So e-mail me (joisigers @ aim.com). That way, I get to know you too!
My name is Joi (pronounced Joy). People see my name and wonder if I’m from “an exotic race” – the answer’s no, unless being a Kentuckian counts. Born in Kentucky, raised in Kentucky, live in Kentucky – as the Montgomery Gentry song says, here is “where I keep all my yesterdays.” My todays are also here, and my tomorrows see no reason to go anywhere else.
I am a Christian, a wife and a mother of three human daughters, two cat daughters, and two cat sons. I absolutely, positively love animals to distraction. I can be found in the early hours of the morning in my yard feeding and watching birds. In the evening, I’m in the same yard feeding and watching rabbits, possums, and raccoons. I even had a coyote in the yard once but since Bo was nearby, we sent Wiley on his way.
In addition to my family and animals, I love movies, cooking, flower and herb gardening, coffee, walking, baseball (St. Louis Cardinals), NFL (Denver Broncos), the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, College Basketball (University of Kentucky), shopping, history, reading (Shakespeare, Dean Koontz, biographies, Agatha Christie), and classic television (I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies, Sanford and Son, The Dick Van Dyke show…).
I hate racism of any kind – bigots are a waste of space, air, and time. I avoid them like I would any other disease.
