I’m not sure which I love the most about this art print – the motivational kick in the seat or the fact that it’s literally what all cats see when they look in the mirror. Even our very aged, ancient….and much, much, much beloved Prissy seems to think she’s a lioness.
Although it’s probably the latter, the point that it makes is esentially what I preach regularly on my Self Help Blogs: Self Help Daily and Out of Bounds. We’d all be unstoppable if we had just a smidgen of a cat’s arrogance and self confidence.
I think it’s a attitude we should try on for size.

How has your week been? Mine has been so busy it’s just stupid – which is why I haven’t gotten a chance to blog much. I have several post planned, and I should be able to get them up by tomorrow night (fingers totally crossed!)
In the meantime, you might just want to read about an adventure that Bo, Alexa, and I found ourselves in t he middle of – it involved a Pit Bull…. The details? They’re HERE.
Bo and I are always getting into ridiculous situations, I’m just amazed that Alexa came down to our level. She probably thought, “Someone has to keep an eye on these two….”
(This was, of course, written before Alexa decided to move inside the house… can you blame her?!?!)

Love the shades, beads and dreds on the guy on the left – he might just be too cool for school.

“The cat is above all things, a dramatist.” – Margaret Benson
Svenn most certainly lives up to that quote. He seems to have some sort of a dramatic moment 2 billion times a day. Yesterday I watched as a mother bird practically rode him up the length of our driveway. I was in the kitchen frying cod or I’d have rescued him like I normally do. I’m afraid he was on his own and the bird rode him like a Brama bull.
He’s the sort of cat that’ll show up after a wild night with his fur all ruffled and an occasional scratch or other boo boo. He’s a complete chicken but seems to get into everything.
Oh, and there was the time he tried to woo a raccoon. I was watching one of our two resident raccoons, Agatha Christie (William Shakespeare’s her baby daddy) eating cat food one night. I see my guy Svenn approaching, so I watch, convinced he’ll do something Svennish.
He didn’t disappoint.
The other cats, upon seeing a raccoon or possum eating, will avoid them – when they see a skunk, they head for higher ground. They aren’t necessarily afraid of anything but skunks – but they have enough sense to avoid any and all contact.
And then there’s Svenn.
He saddles up next to Agatha and meows in her ear. She arches her back and lowers her head angrily (of course, by now, I’m halfway out the door ready to protect my not-so-bright baby). Does Svenn realize he made a mistake and take off? Nah. Not his style. He drops and rolls onto his back. Agatha and I look at one another, then at him – he’s blissfully rolling back and forth, giving her a come hither look.
She goes back to eating, I go back inside, and Svenn continues to roll. She finishes and leaves without giving him a second look. Still rolling.
Re-jected!
I Love that cat. He puts a big old country smile on every single day.

Svenn and Alexa have been buddying up alot lately. Thankfully Alexa’s “fixed” or we’d have Svenn kitties all over the place. (He fancies himself a ladies man.) For some reason Bo has decided he has little use for Svenn, so he hisses at him whenever he lays eyes on him – even if it’s half a mile away. Methinks Svenn just annoys Bo for some reason. Adam has no problem with Svenn….but then again Adam’s so laid back he doesn’t have a problem with anything or anyone – unless they get between him and food! Not even Svenn’s that careless.
Bo has actually gotten a little better the past few days – he and Svenn were even eating fish off of the same plate last night, so maybe they’ve patched their differences. I certainly hope so, I’d hate to take either one of those characters to be “fixed” – Bo would pout for a month and it’d make Svenn suicidal. A suicidal Svenn would be a very, very, very bad thing.

Gosh, I love that cat!
In the spirit of Autumn, I thought I’d post this beautiful pic of Carly. Yesterday was an overachieving day for her – she caught two mice, terrorized a couple of cardinals, ran off one cat (Thanks be to God that it wasn’t one of her own kittens.), growled at 3 humans and 2 of her babies.
Busy day.

quote about cats
So, why WOULD some women prefer a CATS to MEN?
A CAT always hits the litter box.
Better chance of training a CAT.
No matter what your CAT drags into your house, you don’t have to pretend you like it.
You never have to spend time with your CAT’s mother.
If you ask enough times, a CAT may actually listen to you.
A CAT purrs when you serve him dinner.
A cat knows you’re the key to his happiness….a man thinks He is.
