I've read that especially raw onions (& garlic - same botanical family) can be very dangerous. Something in them can cause a type of anemia & can lead to death. Also potentially fatal - grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, & certain RAW fish (salmon & not sure which others). You can do a web search to find more details. On a sort of related note - NEVER give meds or products meant for people to dogs (Xylitol is used in some meds) & NEVER use flea meds listed for dogs on cats!!
