Must Haves for the Cat Lover’s Kitchen

Last night at the supper table we were talking about the economy – discussing which stores were doing well, which were barely holding on, and which (by this time next year) gone and all but forgotten.

One of my daughters said that a store in town was in the process of enlarging their pet department because, even in hard times, pet lovers WILL take good care of their babies. True enough. We’ll splurge on their food, litter, beds, toys, etc. Anytime I’m in Pet Smart, I always notice a few things: Everyone’s extremely happy (pet lovers are happy people!) and everyone’s busy buying anything they thing their little ones will love.

They’re family, of course we’re going to take good care of them. They add a lot more to our lives than we could ever repay them for. They’re there for us 24/7 – always happy to see us and ready and willing to keep us company whenever we need it.

Pet lovers have a wonderful, unspoken, bond. We love to talk about our babies and we love to let the whole world know about them! I guess that’s why pet mugs, posters, tees, jewelry, totes, etc. are always such best sellers. Check out the great kitchen items in this post – all with the pet lover in mind. At the top is the Crazy Cat Lady Mug. I figure it was made just for me. It’s in my favorite color (purple) and describes me to a tee. It’s dishwasher and microwave safe and holds 13 oz of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, apple cider… It’s the perfect mug for a cat lover, whether they’re crazy or not.

Then there’s the equally adorable (albeit not purple) Cat Salt & Pepper Set.
So cute! My mom collected salt and pepper shakers but when she moved on to Heaven, she didn’t need them any longer. They came to live with me and I’ve been adding to the collection – I think these quirkly little cats would love to join the group of geese, poodles, pigs (lots of pigs, actually), black cats, Italian chefs, reindeer, etc.

I also love the colorful Happy Cat Ceramic Platter. I love bold, vibrant, happy colors and the ones in this platter more than fit that bill. The words “It’s Good to Be a Cat” are written along the edge and the curly yellow ceramic feet on the bottom of the platter give it an elegant finishing touch.

The platter is also microwave and dishwasher safe.

Further up the page is the “Feed the Cat” Scoop and Hanger. Not only is it adorable, it’s a great way to keep up with your cat’s spoon or scoop. The cute wall plaque is made of metal with a hook on the back for hanging on the wall.

Frankly, I want them all!
