DJ Kitty is in the House for the Tampa Bay Rays

Remember the adorable Rally Monkey, used by the Angels baseball team? Cat lovers, rejoice, because there’s a hot new mascot in Major League Baseball and it’s a cat. DJ Kitty to be exact.

A hilarious series of funny cat videos featuring DJ Kitty have hit the web to help generate fan support and good vibes for the Tampa Bay Rays. They’re in a playoff war with non other than the New York Yankees, so I’d say they could use all the support they can get!

If only fans would show up like DJ Kitty shows up.

Since my much-beloved St. Louis Cardinals are so dead in the water they’re floating, I wasn’t sure which team I’d support – or even if I gave one whisker about who won… but now that DJ Kitty’s on the scene, I’m throwing my vibes to the Rays.

Hopefully, DJ Kitty can encourage fans to show up to Tropicana Stadium and support their team – come on, people, they’re one of the best teams in baseball. HELLO!??!? The Cardinals and Cubs are completely out of contention yet their fans show up faithfully by the thousands – yet teams like the Rays and Cincinnati Reds couldn’t fill the house if the tickets were free.

Maybe the Reds need a cat too?

Cute Cat Video

This cat video is a really cute one. I was halfway through another one (and had every intention of posting it), but it didn’t pass my STRICT guidelines. I refuse to post a video that shows a situation where the cat is/was in obvious danger, all for the sake of a video. It’s ridiculous.

I don’t like the segments where cats are put in high places so they’ll jump down. Oooooh, how entertaining. I also don’t like when the cat’s being scared just to get a reaction. Not even remotely cool. I saw one clip of a woman who threw a kitten upwards toward a wooden ceiling, so it’d “land” claws-first into the wood.

If she and the photographer don’t have anything better to do than that, they probably shouldn’t be proving it to the world.

It’s also not cool to tempt a cat to jump toward a ceiling fan… I mean, come on, are these people even thinking?! Cats are funny enough little characters on their own – they don’t need directors.

Especially if the director isn’t taking their safety into account.

Nora the Piano Playing Cat!

So, how cool is this precious little girl? She’s a three year old cat who plays the piano better than I do. Her name is Nora and she’d like to play a little something for you.

Apparently she started playing when she was just a kitten. Her “dad” says that she will play even if no one else is in the room to hear, but her favorite thing to do is play duets with her “mom’s” piano students.

My cats show very little interest in the piano. The only type of music they’re interested in is listening to their cd’s. Prissy’s all about Alicia Keys. Puts her in a happy place.
