I love how patient this beautiful orange cat is! Allowing the adorable parakeet to prance across his head… so cute. I say “his” simply because I haven’t had a female cat, yet, that would have stood for such a thing. In fact, as I’m typing these words, my inside cat (Alexa) is accosting a bird on the window ledge. Thankfully there’s a glass between them. Such a hateful look on her face, wow!
I thought you just had to see Alexa’s glamor shot. We were playing a rousing game of “bat the catnip mouse around the Christmas tree” when she totally pooped out on me. She laid herself out on a few presents a la Rita Hayworth and I grabbed my camera.
After a few misses, I took the one above and told her we had the “money shot.”
She plans to put them in her Christmas cards this year with the caption, “I don’t always pose for pictures, but when I do…. Money Shot. Stay Glamorous my friends.”

More Cats!
What beautiful cats. I love the fact that there are other people out there who treat their furry babies much as they would the furless variety. Both are adorable, both make life even sweeter, and both (obviously) love a good party!
Alexa, in the picture above, seems to be voicing her concern over the state of one of her beloved cardboard Super Scratchers. I try to keep them changed out often because the girl is MAD about them. We keep several of them in the house, near some of her favorite places to scratch. More than any cat I’ve ever had the pleasure of being Mommy to, Alexa is a furry little ninja when it comes to scratching. I have to work to stay a step ahead of her, but placing scratching posts in her favorite areas helps.

Cats love to scratch. We have to remind ourselves that they have no idea they’re doing anything wrong. Scratching is as natural as eating and drinking for a cat. Our approach has to be one of outsmarting the cat. It’s absolutely impossible to make her NOT want to scratch. Common sense dictates that we give our cats alternatives. We can’t very well take the approach that they WILL NOT SCRATCH EVER AGAIN! We’ll be woefully disappointed and our cats will think we’ve completely lost our minds.
If you have a ninja scratcher, too, give the cardboard Super Scratchers a try. They’re in the pet sections of just about every store you can imagine and they’re ridiculously inexpensive. They can help save your sanity, the furniture, the walls, the door frames, the drapes, and possibly your pants. After all, we all know a cat’s philosophy…
When I found the hilarious picture of the cartoon cat above on I Can Has Cheezburger, I even saved it to my computer as Alexa!
Like most cat lovers, I love cats of all sizes. The gorgeous cats in the video above are, admittedly, very big babies – but just as lovable as the smaller variety we come into contact with daily. This video is outstanding!
Meet Fuddles! He’s a much-loved – and no doubt very pampered – beautiful cat who’s becoming a star. Hopefully he won’t let it go to his head. He’s Frans Vischer’s baby. Mr. Vischer, in addition to being a proud father to 3 without fur and one with, is a Disney animator. How unbelievably cool is that?
Frans says that observing Fuddles funny behavior inspired him to make his first picture book, Fuddles, which will be published by Simon & Schuster on May 3rd.

She loves a cat who appreciates good food the way she does and, by all appearances, Mr. Fuddles knows his way around the food dish.

I’ve pre-ordered lots of books (and even dvds) on Amazon before and it works like a charm. As soon as the product is available – they send it right to you. I love it because it’s in your hands before anyone else really even knows about it. What can I say, that sort of thing sends me.
I’ll also put a link on the side of the website, so you can remember to order the book anytime you decide to. As a fanatical cat lover, I personally collect cat items (art prints, figurines, books, etc.) and can’t wait to add this to my collection. No doubt you feel the same way. Ahhh, cat people. We’re amongst the most passionate people on the face of the earth. But then again, given the objects of our affections, how could we not be?

If you love cats – and given the fact that you’re currently on a cat website, I’m thinking it’s a logical conclusion! – an organization you should become intimately familiar with is Big Cat Rescue. This outstanding organization protects some of the most spectacular and gorgeous animals in the world – the cats our house-cats fancy themselves to be… the big guys!
Their website (www.bigcatrescue.org), along with their videos, pictures, and information seek to show the world just how special these cats are. They also do an outstanding job when it comes to fighting for the cats that are in danger. The gloves come off and they go toe to toe with anyone who means harm to any of these beauties.
I’m absolutely addicted to their videos. Not only are cats my favorite animals – whatever the size – I’m also completely floored by the similarities between a big cat playing and my own babies playing. Just watch the wonderful video below as the much bigger babies play with Christmas presents, boxes, and cardboard paper rolls. The maneuvers and the complete and utter delight in what’s at hand is just like the cats we have in our lives.
I also would ask that you consider giving to Big Cat Rescue. Those of us who love animals so dearly can’t just expect others to protect and care for them. We have to take the love and concern that we feel in our hearts and put it into action. Let’s face it, if it stays in our hearts, it won’t do these wonderful animals any good whatsoever.

I could honestly watch funny cat videos all day long. As long as the cats are in absolutely zero danger or distress, I’m completely on board.

I also love that other people out there get as much enjoyment and entertainment from their precious cats as we do ours.
