“Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.” – Unknown
Ever notice how a cat enters your presence? (S)he looks you in the eye to make sure you realize just how lucky and blessed you are, then sort of sizes up your gratitude.
We have two cats and three kittens – even the babies are convinced they’re above everyone else. It must be something their mother (Carly) passed on to them, she’s the biggest egomaniac ever. Even her MEOW comes across as demanding and intolerant. Actually it isn’t a meow at all, it’s more of a scream….an “I know you hear me, why hasn’t my every desire been met?!”- type of alarm.
Her entire attitude is just like her scream. Her appearance tricks the casual observer, because she’s a small-boned little thing…very dainty (I’ll deny it if you tell her I said that word) and beautiful. She has big gorgeous green eyes and an amazingly colorful coat. She’s less than two, herself, and had kittens much sooner than we’d have liked.
But, Carly’s Carly and that never spells out what you expect. She’s a true character, a “tom boy” whereas her sister-by-association, Prissy is a girly-girl. Humanized, as children, Carly would have on a Terrell Owens football jersey, go around barefoot and hang from trees. Prissy would be wearing ribbons, sitting under the same tree reading and hoping Carly didn’t swoop down on her. She would.
I can’t imagine life without my cats. The fun and laughter they bring out of each day defies description….
Carly’s been quiet for too long, I’d better go see who or what has been compromised for her entertainment.
