Paws for Art

We all know how clever our furry babies are, but apparently they may be artistic to boot.
Heather Busch and Burton Silver wrote a book called “Why Cats Paint: A Theory of Feline Aesthetics.” The authors describe serious studies done with several British cats who fancied themselves artists. At first the “paintings” appeared to be just scribbling and random marks - the sort of art only a mother would be impressed with.
UNTIL one day the owner of a particular cat, Orangello, looked closely at one of his cat’s paintings. It became obvious to him that the “scribblings” were actually obvious drawings of objects around the house!
It’s really an amazing book - not as amazing as the cat artists, of course, but amazing nonetheless.
Have a great week,
