Black Cats

Black cats are sometimes thought to symbolize bad luck. But they haven’t always had that reputation.

King Charles I of England was absolutely convinced that his beloved black cat was his good luck charm. He carried his pet everywhere with him - he was never without it by his side.

When the cat died, the King was distraught and grieved for it deeply. He was also convinced that all of his good fortune died along with his “good luck charm.” He told others that his life would never be the same again and that all his luck was gone.

The very next day, he was arrested and subsequently beheaded! Think maybe he was on to something?
