Alexa and the Boob Tube
Alexa’s healing from her surgery, so she’s still staying in a room of the house. I’d love for her to just move in with us, but Prissy is teetering on senility and firmly set in her ways - she practically hisses at photos of other animals, let alone the real McCoy.
So, since Lady Prissy has seniority, Alexa is relegated to hiding out in a bedroom - with the door shut, of course and a frequent stream of well-wishers and affection.
We noticed that when we weren’t in there she started to cry at the door, so I decided to try putting a little television in there with her. I put it right down on the floor, because I don’t want her jumping any. She loves it! She doesn’t cry at the door any more, and when we walk in she’s usually lying on the floor in front of the tv watching it gleefully. (She loves Friends re-runs and golf!)
I think a tv could be a perfect answer for lots of pets who get lonely or bored - for when a human or other pet can’t be around. Alexa recommends it!
