Answers to Cat Mysteries
I was browsing online for Hollywood Biographies when I came across this little cutie. I did a little research and found out that this book is ready to help me decode a lot of my cats’ mysteries. According to the Table of Contents, the author tackles such topics as….
Great Art Prints for Cat Lovers!
I absolutely, posively love these two art prints. The firt one’s called “Landy” and the second one is “Squirt.” They’re both by the amazing artist Ron Burns. Judging by the details in the cats’ faces, this man HAS to be a cat person. He’s captured that certain look that a cat gets when they’re looking for somehting to get into. I love that look - it means fun’s just ahead.—-
Hilarious Bird Feeder
Alexa’s begging for this. She wants one for each tree in our yard - but since there are over 16, I’m going to have to break her cold little heart. She’ll have to make do with just one.
This hand-painted resin bird feeder—–
Heat Waves, Dogs, and Bo
We recently inherited a new member to our family of 5 humans and 6 cats - - - - - 1 dog. We got custody of “Wednesday,” the sweetest dog you could ever meet, when my mom passed away. He was her baby - she absolutely adored this dog! So, needless to say, we’re doing our best to give him as great a life as possible. Thing is, we’re cat people - so we’re still trying to figure out dog needs! One thing I’ve noticed is the fact that the heat is a whole lot harder on him than it is the cats……
Our Baby’s Back!
After countless tears and hours spent looking, calling and praying, our baby came home. I was sitting outside tonight, hoping and praying that Bo would just walk up - and guess what happened? Bo just walked up. Another of our cats, Svenn is shaped an awful lot like Bo, but there was no mistake in my mind - I knew immediately who it was and hurried over to him with an, “Oh my God!” My husband, who was in the yard swinging a golf club (and I know, in his macho way also hoping for Bo to walk up) said, “What?”
Carrying Bo over to him, I said, “Look at this!”……….
Our Bo Has Been Missing for 3 Days
One of the sweetest natured and most beautiful cats in the world - our much, much loved “Bo” has been missing for 3 days. Needless to say, we are pretty much beside ourselves. We’re hoping like mad that he’s off doing what boy cats do and is just taking a vacation from celibacy. An extended vacation…..
Diabetes in Cats
Just like humans pets can suffer from diabetes mellitus too. By a simple blood test, called fructosamine, thay can be diagnosed, and then under the care of your veterinary surgeon, often treated succesfully.
Fructosamines are stable complexes of carbohydrates and proteins that are produced by an irreversible, nonenzymatic glycosylation of serum proteins. Fructosamine (glycated serum protein) measurements are useful in diagnosing and monitoring diabetes mellitus in both cats and dogs. The test is highly sensitive and can be used to distinguish non-diabetic transiently hyperglycaemic cats from diabetics with chronic hyperglycaemia……

Cat Health Quiz
Entirely Pets has a Cat Quiz that you and your cat might want to fill out. You answer a few questions, then they e-mail you your cat’s “profile.” It’s not 100% accurate, though - for example, they said that “Prissy the ancient” was 24 in human years, making her a young adult. Apparently their system misread something, because - at 18, my Prissy (unfortunately) is nowhere near a young anything……
Feng Shui for Your Cat?
Click the book if your cat’s interested!
I’ve been reading a great deal about Feng Shui lately - for another one of my blogs, Chinese Wisdom. Being a Kentuckian, I feel like I’m a world away from being Chinese, but I absolutely love the beauty, grace, and serenity of so many aspects of their history, […]
