Steph and I took our beautiful Alexa to the vet this morning to be spayed. The women working there were so sweet and reassuring -to all of us, including a very unhappy Alexa! It made me think, anyone who is an animal lover at all couldn’t ask for a better job. I’m sure it’s hard work, but you get to see and help precious animals all day….. and the people you associate with and help are fellow animal lovers, too.
One of the workers was being especially sweet to a lady who was there with her own beautiful cat. The lady looked far too sad for me to even let myself think about what was ahead for her and her cat.
It made me unbelievably grateful to only be there with one of our “babies” for a very routine procedure – even though poor little Alexa thought it was indeed the end of the world. I’m not sure which upset her more – the 12 hours without food, the cold morning, or my driving. Probably a combination of all three!
I wanted to encourage anyone who hasn’t had their cat spayed or neutered to strongly consider it. It helps them live longer, healthier, safer lives – more than enough reason to call the vet asap.
I look forward to getting our little girl home this afternoon and holding her all night!
